Enter now.... the fabulous people at RadioDowntown.ca

Through a long relationship with one of Canada’s top internet radio stations, we had some discussions and tossed ideas out loud and they  said "let's do it", so we did.  And our first episode aired May 8th, 2025, and it was a hit right out of the gate.

With 1,000 of listeners, emails and social media love, we knew within weeks that we were on to something.  The foundations for WorkPlace Radio had been poured and we began to build, with incredible thanks to the team at RadioDowntown.ca!

A Little History.....

It was in March of 2025 when some curious behaviours began bubble up from our neighbours to the south.  Those behaviours continued to bubble and eventually manifest in the form of trade tariff threats against Canada.  The threats, which seemed to change in levels from one day to the next, began to impact Canadian workplaces in the form of layoffs, hiring freezes, business closures and a wave of stress not felt by employers or employees for some time.

Co-hosts Jim Ellis and Gary Hepworth's consulting practices were dealing with their client's tariff worries, along with the already present retirement wave of “boomers”, the increase of Canadian-based (and proud of it) industries, and an emergence of entrepreneurs like never before, are all shifting the world of work as we know it... when they realized that the participants of today's workplace were experiencing a stressful time for many and an inspirational time for others.

It was clear that insight and conversation needed to be shared.

And with that, a radio show and podcast series called Work In Progress was launched in May 2025.
